I am honored you have made it this far into this website; I have been very direct about my faith!
I would never insist that we believe the same things, but it’s fair to you to know that my Christian beliefs create my framework for why people matter, why life can be hard, and why we can have hope.
Therapy is an inherently vulnerable process, and safety is of paramount importance. It is my intent to provide a safe and respectful environment for all!

At this time, I am not in network with any insurance providers. Insurance companies can put unnecessary constraints on patient care such as limiting the number of sessions, requiring a diagnosis from the DSM when not all patient needs are defined within the manual, and/or requiring disclosure of patient information for coverage.
I can provide a superbill of services that can be submitted to your insurance carrier for reimbursement for out of network benefits. Please inquire with your insurance carrier regarding your out of network benefits.

Ever since COVID, telehealth has become a common mode for delivering services. It has differences from in-person appointments, but it has been found to still be very effective. It is great to have the convenience as needed to make therapy more accessible!
When you make your appointment, you signify whether it will be in-person or in the virtual office. For a virtual session, you will receive a link via email to join the virtual office through the Simple Practice client portal. Your in-person appointment can be changed to virtual anytime before the start! Just let me know, and I will send you the virtual office link.
Please note that for some cases, the best / necessary care would be in-person appointments only without a virtual option. This decision would be made by the discretion of the therapist. We would discuss this together if it applies to you!

Every session, I give you my undivided attention. My goal is to give you space, time, and attention to be seen, heard, known, and encouraged toward healing. I love to learn what it’s like to be you: what are your strengths and challenges, what delights and discourages you, what are your relationships like, how was your family of origin, etc.
We will also consider together your next steps toward change based on your desired goals. Sometimes those steps are concrete (‘have this conversation with a loved one’ or ‘explore this book and podcast’). Other steps are more internal (‘notice how you feel when…’ or ‘contemplate your fears about….’). I love to celebrate every victory, big or small, and acknowledge the ways you are living a more abundant life!

Frequency will be recommended based on factors such as: your current level of functioning (do you need more support to live well?), your motivation toward change (are you ready to be challenged?), your desire for accountability (what type of support motivates you?), your processing style (do you need time to think alone before you talk it out?), your availability, etc. Often when we first start treatment, it is best to meet consistently (weekly or bi-weekly) to increase momentum.
As goals are being accomplished, we may choose to reduce frequency or take a break until / if another concern arises. I want therapy to be effective for you. For some that means regular check-ins and for others it’s accomplished through short-term intensive treatment. We will discuss this together!

The first step would be to meet for a free 15 minute consultation. It would be over the phone or in the virtual office. During that time, we would talk briefly about your concerns and what methods I believe could be helpful for your treatment. You could also ask any additional questions you have that are not answered on the website. If after the consultation we believe initiating therapy together would be the best next step, I would send you an email with paperwork to complete and an invitation to the online scheduling portal.
