I delight to give you my time, care, and attention
You matter.
Meet our provider
Bethany LeMieux, MS LPC
I have been providing outpatient mental health care as a professional counselor for over 12 years, primarily in a Christian counseling setting. My Christian beliefs are like ‘the prescription in the glasses I wear’ to see and understand everything I encounter. It compels me to treat everyone with dignity, compassion, and humility. It gives me hope to receive the generous promises of a faithful God. If you don’t ascribe to Christian beliefs, please know I am motivated by love and I will respect you wherever you are in your spiritual journey. We can incorporate spirituality as much or as little as it fits for you!
I am also thankful for the robust psychological training I have received that has enhanced the work God has called me to do. It provides strategies that compliment and work in concert with my faith to be a helper to others. I graduated with a Masters in Counseling from UW-Whitewater in 2012, which is a CACREP accredited program. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin (#7253-125).
I am curious and always exploring something new! I have received continuing education in treatment modalities and areas such as: Complex Trauma Treatment, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Self-Criticism and Shame Resolution, Affair Recovery, Betrayal Trauma, Written Exposure Therapy for Trauma, and Forgiveness. I am also a certified Prepare and Enrich Facilitator.
More personally, I am a wife to my college sweetheart and a mother to 3 teen/tween-age children. If I’m not at work or with my family, you could find me at my bootcamp-style gym, on a walk with a friend, or listening to a podcast while cleaning my house.
What are sessions like?
My goal in every session is to give you space, time, and attention to be seen, heard, known, and encouraged toward healing. I love to learn what it’s like to be you: what are you strengths and challenges, what delights and discourages you, what are your relationships like, how was your family of origin, etc.
We will also consider together your next steps toward change based on your desired goals. Sometimes those steps are concrete (‘have this conversation with a loved one’ or ‘explore this book and podcast’). Other steps are more internal (‘notice how you feel when…’ or ‘contemplate your fears about….’). I love to celebrate every victory, big or small, and acknowledge the ways you are living a more abundant life!
How often will we meet?
Frequency will be recommended based on factors such as: your current level of functioning (do you need more support to live well?), your motivation toward change (are you ready to be challenged?), your desire for accountability (what type of support motivates you?), your processing style (do you need time to think alone before you talk it out?), your availability, etc. Often when we first start treatment, it is best to meet consistently (weekly or bi-weekly) to increase momentum.
As goals are being accomplished, we may choose to reduce frequency or take a break until / if another concern arises. I want therapy to be effective for you. For some that means regular check-ins and for others it’s accomplished through short-term intensive treatment. We will discuss this together!
